Smoke Deter
Smoke Deter has just recently reformulated its long-standing patches into a sublingual spray while at the same time increasing the amounts of effective ingredients to make it that much easier to quit.
Previously, these ingredients were only available in a three-day patch which led us to believe there could be some limitations on how effective the time-release was. Perhaps by the third day, users were starting to feel the effects wear off and the cravings return. But now with converting to sublingual based supplements, this problem appears to have been eliminated.
The spray is utilized by directing a light mist under the tongue whenever nicotine cravings arise. It will help with the deep physiological effects of nicotine withdrawal as it absorbs into your system and assist with the shallow cravings you would expect throughout the day as well. Plus, you also get lifetime access to their online Stop Smoking Program Club. All in all, a complete system. Smoke Deter is available in supplies from one month to six months – of course, the more you buy, the cheaper it is. Regardless of how many months you order, the program is still far cheaper than smoking. And much better for you.
In addition to the supplements, you also receive a free relaxation CD to help calm yourself during the quitting process.
All in all it’s a very simple product to use and because it does not use nicotine replacement in its formulas one that should be at the top of your list when considering programs to assist you in your stop smoking endeavors.
Pros:
-
Not nicotine based
-
Is simple to use
-
90 day no quibble 100% money back guarantee
-
Comes with free relaxation CD
-
Can be ordered in supplies from one to six months
Cons:
-
Return policy is a bit complicated – but this should not be an issue as the goal is to quit

Why haven’t you included acupuncture?
Hi Gail,
Truthfully, we have no experience using acupuncture as a stop smoking medium, so we can’t rightfully comment on it.
Chris
I am trying to get my dad to quit. He has a busy life and is always on the go. He needs to quit and has tried before. Would this be a good product for him? Also does it work quickly because I know he will give up within the first week if it does not give him results quickly.
Hi Matt,
Looking for a solution in a week is probably setting you and your Dad up for failure. The top two products will work in 10-14 days from our experience. If you can work with those numbers, then these are the best solutions for the both of you.
Regards,
Chris
I recently celebrated my 49th bday and my 4 kids and boyfriend treated me to 3 acupuncture treatments to stop smoking. I can honestly say it has taken away the cravings and strengthened my will power and puts me in a calmness I haven’nt felt before. I am putting the five dollars a day I am not spending on cigs into savings for a vacation. Thats 140 dollars a month! I have tried everything else and this has worked for me.. I want to be here when my future grandkids come into this world.
Regards,
Tamara
That is fantastic Tamara.
I am so glad you quit, no matter the method.
Keep up the good work.
Chris
Of the programs Smoke Deter and End the Habit, which one would you recommend. I have tried, patches, zyban, chantex, cold turkey, etc and nothing I have tried seems to work. both of these programs seem similar, but just wondering which one you would recommend. They both recommend at least 2 months of product, with smoke deter stating that 4-6 months is recommended. But if it works in 10-14 (or even 30) days why would it be necessary to purchase the additional 1-5 months worth.
Hi Debbie,
Tough call as we recommend them both highly.
Here\’s how I would help you decide. Smoke Deter relies more on product performance and less on psychological conditioning and End the Habit uses more preparation and relies less on the supplementation.
So I would say if you don\’t want to rely on products as you have in the past, give End the Habit your business.
I wish you all the best whichever way you decide.
Chris
I used smoke deter back in June of 2009 and I have been smoke free since then. I will not say it stopped all cravings, but it did help without nicotine replacement. I would reccommend this to others and also say that you have to be strong when doing this. I also used a reward system and had a good support system from my non-smoking husband.
Great to hear that you quit Ashley. Nobody said it was easy, but it is worth it. Congratulations.
Chris
I’ve been smoking since I was 16 years of age and I am finally am getting sick of it and sick of paying $8.00 a pack for them. I have never tried or have stopped smoking since , I am now 35 and would like to here what you would think be the best method for someone who has never tried to quit and once I do quit I never would wanna go back for I know its the worst habit in the world. Thank you.
Hi Sean,
Straight up answer. You already know the top products we recommend. If you want to rely more on the \’product\’ then go with Smoke Deter.
However if you want to go with training your mind and body to be a non-smoker and use the herbals as a supplement, then go with the End the Habit Program.
Your choice my friend. Just make a decision as to which one you think is best and stick with it.
All the best to you.
Chris
I have been smoking since I was 12 and now I’m 37, and trying to quit AGAIN. I have tried everything…..patches, gum, acupuncture, chantix, cold turkey, everything. Now I found Smoke Remedy, a homeopathic spray you use in the same way as the other two mentioned (smoke deter and end the habit). I was wondering if there are any reviews on this product, as I just paid $200, all I can do is cross my fingers that it takes away the cravings, which is all I really think I need help with, since I have quit cold turkey before… I just was hoping to make it a little easier and last a lot longer. Last time I quit it only lasted 70 days. So any input I can get to help me, is greatly appreciated.
Hi Tara,
Good on you for your efforts. Just to clarify, Smoke Deter is a spray as you mentioned, but End the Habit is a supplement based system.
We have not reviewed Smoke Remedy but would love to hear back from you on the effectiveness.
Only advice I can give you is to trust in the decision you made and become a non-smoker forever this time.
Chris
I AM 35 YEARS OLD I WANT TO QUITE SMOKING MORE THAN ANYTHINGS I KNOW THIS BUT WHEN IT COMES TO WILL POWER TO TRY AND QUITE SMOKING I AM EXTREMELY WEAK I NEED SOMETHING THAT WILL HELP ME OVERCOME WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST
Hi Carl,
Well, our recommendations are what we would suggest. However it sounds like you need more preparation rather than just an aid, so in your case I would recommend End the Habit over Smoke Deter, but please visit the sites and review their information and make the decision that makes sense for you.
Wishing you the best,
Chris
Ok, I really hope this works…I’m not a big fan of the “WOW WOW WOW!!!” type of website like Smoke Deter has. It didn’t impress me at all…particularly because they can’t even spell the word “withdrawal” in their bold headline! Maybe I’m being a big ol’ English teacher about it, but you’d think they could at least look up the words which pertain specifically to the issue at hand…
I ordered a one month supply, and I’m going to try it out based on your reviews. I like the idea of being able to do something physically to alleviate the craving…taking action each time, you know? That seems to have the best effect in my abysmal quitting history. I’ve tried every kind of nicotine replacement out there for the last 16 years, and even acupuncture (what a load of bunk, by the way…did not help one tiny bit.), and I like that your reviews are gravitating hard away from all the NRT stuff.
If it works for me, I’ll get more. Thanks for all your hard work, folks!
–Maggie
Thanks for your comments Maggie. And we are all rooting for you.
Chris
I am a diabetic and need to quit smoking. What herbs or ingredients are in Smoke Deter? What could be the side effects? I looked into the herb Lobelia and there can be serious side effects? thank you. Pam
Hi Pam,
The ingredients are listed on their site here. http://www.smokedeter.com/ingredients.php
For what it is worth, I have worked with hundreds of people who have used lobelia for both quitting smoking and respiratory ailments and have never heard of a ‘real’ serious side effects. The side effects from pharmaceuticals are the ones to worry about.
Please let me know if you have instructions in Spanish for your produt.
Linda Russo
Hi Linda,
Smoke Deter is not a product we own, only one of our recommendations, so you will need to contact their customer support desk directly through the smoke deter site to see if they offer Spanish instructions.
Chris
Going to have to have a friend take a look into this. Thank you for sharing.
More than welcome Scott.
Have you reviewed Smoke Away? If so, why did it not make your list?
Hi Tina…we have not yet, but will look into it. Thanks.
Anyone ever use Smoke Deter while pregnant? I am not pregnant now but we are trying and I REALLY want to quit! I would hate to start it and have to stop or worse yet continue to use it only to find out its bad for baby! I plan on talking to my doctor but any info you guys have would be great! Thanks
I’m sure you’ve heard this argument already, but smoking is the absolute worse thing you can do when pregnant. 4000 chemicals in your body is not good for the baby, so I would suggest quitting before getting pregnant. And what a great reason!
What do you think of herbal or electronic cigarettes to get you to quit?
Hi Mary Ellen,
Just my opinion, but I don’t care for the method as you are still holding on to some part of the habit.
Better I think to make a clean break all at once.
Again, just my opinion, but just too easy to revert back.
Chris
I’ve been a smoker for too long. I’m 56 years and I’ve tried to quit twice. The las time was with Chantix. My downfall-gaining weight. In the success stories you’ve shared, I haven’t noticed any conversations about weight gain. I also haven’t seen anything about the urge to have something in my hand, i.e. pencil, pretzle .
Hynosis rates fairly low, but is “supposed” so prevent weight gain (for a few more dollars…).
Is Smoke Deter the same as Smoke Remedy? and what is the web address for Smoke Deter. i am unable to “click” on links so please an address. Thank you!
Hi Thomas,
They are not the same as far as we know. Two separate companies.
Regards,
Chris
I ordered the spray and got the pills how do I fix this
Hi Lynn,
We are only a review site and not the supplier of Smoke Deter, so cannot help you change your order. Please contact Smoke Deter via their website.
Thanks,
Chris
Hi,
Im still trying to quit after having made my first attempt ever! Back on may 20th, using chantix, the side effects hit me hard, so im now looking into the deter. (actually bought a 4 month supply)
My problem is both severe phycological addiction and obviously physical as well. Ive been a smoker for 43 years now and its become a major part of my being, so, which would suite me best. or can I use both together to cover both parts of the problems? (speaking of smoke-deter and the end of habit combined). If im reading this correctly they both work for different issues correct? The cost would be totally invaluable to say the least. I wanna live!!!!
I live in Texas, in August I will be 59 and I have owned my own business for 8 years. I have been a smoker for 35 years now. I was very ill about a week and a half ago. I have been better for about 4 days now. I did not smoke for the 5 days I was sick (not the flu either). I tried to smoke but it hurt my lungs too badly. This is another story in itself. I have a very strong desire to quit smoking. I am so tired of carrying around a cigarette case. I am tired of taking breaks to smoke one. I tired of lighting one up before I can talk on the phone and so on. I could very well go on. I sure most of you reading this could relate to what I am saying. My friend gave me her Chantix because she quit cold turkey (lucky one!). She said give it a try, it just may work. I started the Chantix on 7/16. It is now 7/21. I have smoked 2 packs of cigarettes in this time which normally I am a 2 pack a day smoker. Wow! Scary isn’t it! 2 packs a day! It floors me to even say it. I am proud of myself cutting down smoking as much as I have and it truly is a great feeling. The Chantix gives me cotton mouth, so I swallow a lot more. There is a strange feeling going on in my mouth that I cannot describe. Cigarettes do not taste good at all, which is a good thing. I catch myself talking a few puff’s, then putting the rest out in the snuffer. Which is another good thing. However, I will be out of Chantix by Sunday. Never tried Smoke Deter, but I just ordered a month supply to give it a whirl, but it will not be here for about 10 days, so I will have no form of help for about 5 days. Then, what will I do for help? I guess it is a wait and see. I don’t know if I will be strong enough mentally to not grab for a smoke every time I turn around. I am afraid now for when this time does arrive I will indeed be weak and give in to smoke addition from hell! I will keep you guys informed as too how I am progressing. OR NOT! I will keep a strong head if I can. It is a pleasant thing that I can talk about it, it seems to help. Thanks for listening you guys!
MsKitti
I have been trying to find reviews for Smoke Deter. I am worried that all the reviews that I have been reading are from the Smoke Deter website. Are you sponsored by them?
Hi Robbie,
No, we are independent of Smoke Deter.
Best regards,
Chris
Hi Mitzi,
Sorry, thought I had already answered your inquiry before.
We have heard or many folks using the two programs together successfully as they address two different outlooks on quitting.
Hope that answers your questions.
Take care,
Chris
In looking over the site (thank you, by the way!), I notice that almost all of it is geared to cigarette smoking. (Reasonable…) My “poison of choice”, though, is a pipe, which seems to be more of a mental addiction than physical. Any specific recommendations that you’ve found to be more effective? (I’m 53 and a brand new grandpa – would like to get rid of the pipe so I can stick around for my grandson…)
Best,
Woody
Hi Woody,
Yes, of course. In your case because you have stated the mental addiction, we would definitely recommend End the Habit as changing your mindset is where the main focus of the program is.
Chris
Thanks, Chris – I’ll check this out!
I’m using Vick’s Vapo Rub as a crutch in quitting. I rub it on my nostrils and begin inhaling deeply. The eucalyptus in Vick’s is a natural way to open your aveoli in your lungs & it is strong. Since I wouldn’t want my lungs to receive nicotine while they are opening up for more oxygen, I won’t have a cigarette. I first started using Vick’s when I was choking at night from the phlegm coming up- it calmed my breathing & lungs. Sugar Free cough drops (Hall’s) is also another thing to take – smoking doesn’t taste good when you have it in your mouth along with Vick’s. Also, if you must buy cigarettes, buy the sleaziest kind that doesn’t taste good to you. You’ll be less inclined to want one of those. Call your friends that don’t smoke. Just talking to smoking friends on the phone triggers me.
I reccently had a heart attack, he second one in 11 years. After the first one I quit fr 6 months. I am now really worried about my health. I do want to try smoke deter, but is it safe for me to use as I did have the heart attack?
Mary Ellen
Hi Mary Ellen,
As with anything of this nature, I would recommend you consult with your physician to get their opinion, as only they know what medications you are on and if there would be any interactions.
Chris
